St. John, the Baptist

I went to the Louvre to see nothing much at all.

I never wanted to see anything.

But my mrs was intent and we had tickets, so we saw and saw,

millions of asians at the glass pyramid.

“Those gooks were fierce and fearless, that’s the price when you invade” (as St. Lou Reed said).

Outside the pia madonna there was a car accident, streets were backed up 200 metres from home.

Little hot scooters bled out, they fled, up car parks, up bike lanes, tooting horns, cool heads never prevail.

All I thought, I never said.

“Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.”

Nothing rhymed.

Sat and stared instead.
